Operated by P&O Ferries on the Dover Calais route
The biggest ferry on the Channel, the Spirit of Britain is 700 feet long, almost 100 feet wide, and can carry more than 1,000 cars as well as 2,000 passengers. Onboard you will find an international food court, bar and cafe, discounted shopping, a brasserie, games room, family lounge, bureau de change, an exclusive club lounge and much more.
There are no cabins onboard however seating is available in the club class lounge. Pre-book to enjoy a touch of luxury during your channel crossing including a complimentary glass of champagne, tea, coffee, soft drinks and newspapers – all served by friendly staff.
With a choice of bars and restaurants onboard there really is something for everyone, to suit all tastes and pockets. If you are travelling with the family then head to the Food Court, serving exciting cuisine from around the world - the place for a tasty curry as well as freshly prepared traditional British fare, like fish and chips! If you prefer to dine in style, why not try the Brasserie, with the highest quality food and wine served to your table.
The onboard coffee shops serve a selection of light snacks and pastries - plus a wide range of hot and cold drinks, including the famous Costa Coffee.
Check out the Bar for a fun and lively atmosphere and a perfect place to socialise whilst enjoying a drink. Those travelling with children may prefer the family lounge which features comfortable seating with a bar, light snacks, tea, coffee and soft drinks on offer.
In the summer months there’s also an alfresco bar.
There are some great bargains to be had in the onboard shops with literally hundreds of products considerably cheaper than you can find anywhere in the UK. The onboard shop also stocks the latest in travel entertainment aimed at making your journey more comfortable, including the latest best-selling novels, toys and games for the whole family.
You’ll also find free wifi, a commission free bureau de change and an ATM machine with an E Top up facility.
For children there’s a variety of activities onboard including play areas and quieter spots for watching videos. During the summer holidays when many people take their family breaks, you will find children's entertainers onboard with specially trained staff to encourage creativity with some supervised painting or drawing, allowing parents time to sit and enjoy their own space.
If notified or requested staff will meet and assist customers with wheelchairs on the vehicle deck. All shopping, dining and seating areas are wheelchair friendly.

"Trip to France"
We always travel P&O and use the Brasserie. We travel at least three times a year, usually with other people - family or friends. This time we returned on the Pride of Burgundy on a flexi ticket which we use to give us time

"Great way to travel"
Stress free. STRAIGHT onto the boat and straight off at Calais. Friendly helpful staff. All areas clean and food good. Only slight complaint was a wait at the tills which meant food wasn't as hot as it should of been by the time you got to a table other thank that it tasted good and was a fair price.

"Excellent! "
We recently travelled on the Dover/Calais route with P&O ferries and were very impressed with the facilities and services. On route out we had a meal in the al a carte restaurant which was really good and reasonably priced. The shop on board was well stocked with a huge range of perfumes & other gifts. Staff were very helpful and professional. The cars was loaded and unloaded promptly and there was virtually no waiting around. I usually travel on the new haven/dieppe route to reduce driving time but in future I would rather drive for longer and use P&O ferries on this route. Very impressed!

"September 29th 2016 9.25am Sailing from Dover to Calais "
Although we were late getting away from Dover with a 20 minute delay due to bad weather and high winds the captain kept us informed and aware of why we were running late and expressed his apologies. We were also made aware that docking of other ferries also added to the delay. Allthough it was a bumpy ride it was still a enjoyable experience and we arrived in Calais at 12.30 local time after a 1 hour delay. All the crew were very helpfull and which made the journey a pleasent one, Having made this journey a number of times also using other ferry opperators I will always choose P & O ferries as my first option for crossing the channel.

"A Bike Friendly Service"
I regularly use the Service for getting across the channel with my motorbike. They are pretty well on time, all of the times I have used them. I prefer P@O because the tie down straps work and they include a wide piece of padding as part of the strap. Anything that protects the bike better is alright by me. On the negative side, they do need to spend some time in freeing up the tie down point rings which seem to be rusted in.

"P and O: September 2016"
More relaxing than the tunnel. Safer for the driver when on a long drive as we were from the Middle of France to the middle of England! Shame about the M25. Only traffic jam in 3,000 miles of driving!
