This guide is applicable only for when the ship was operated by Moby Lines and this information should not be used as a guide for the ships current or future operations:

One of Moby Lines new generation 'Fast Cruise Ferries', the Moby Freedom has huge vehicle and passenger capacity and a wide range of onboard facilities including numerous cabins and suites, a choice of places to eat and drink, a swimming pool with sundeck, children’s play area and much more.

Onboard Cabins / Reserved Seating

All cabins on the Moby Freedom are air-conditioned and en-suite and come in a choice of inside or sea view (‘outside’). There are also 'Junior Suites' which take up to 4 people and a reserved seating area equipped with coach style seats.

Onboard Food and Drink

There’s no shortage of places to eat and drink onboard the Moby Freedom! In the à la carte restaurant chefs create delicious menus using local Mediterranean recipes while in the self-service restaurant there's a range of freshly cooked delicious dishes, including a fun children's menu. Authentic Italian pizza is available at the pizzapoint and there is also a choice of cafeteria, a snack bar and an ice cream parlour.

If you want to have a drink while you're topping up your tan then the Lido Bar on the sundeck is the place for you or if you want a relaxing evening sipping cocktails then head to the Piano bar. You'll also find a coffee shop and a sports bar where you can catch up with the latest sporting events on a big screen TV in great company and with your favourite drinks.

Onboard Shopping

You can buy just about anything in the Moby Freedom shopping centre including clothing, confectionary, children’s toys, maps, magazines and books.

Additional Onboard Facilities

In addition to the facilities already mentioned, the luxurious cruise ferry Moby Freedom features a swimming pool with sundeck, panoramic lounge, kennels for domestic pets and satellite television.

Travelling with Children

For children, travelling with Moby Lines will be a trip into the world of imagination, not least due to the Looney Tunes branding and figures which can be found everywhere onboard. Moby Lines Moby Freedom ferry has a dedicated 'Children's World' play area. The videogames rooms are bursting with games for older children and teenagers too.

Accessibility

If you will require assistance during your trip then you must specify this at time of booking and ensure that you arrive at the port at least two hours before the departure time to discuss requirements with the check-in staff to ensure that your vehicle can be parked within easy reach of access ways and assistance provided during boarding and disembarkation.

Please Note: Whilst we have taken great care in making our Moby Freedom guide as accurate as possible, onboard facilities, services and entertainment may vary depending on the date and time of year that you travel, facilities mentioned may change without notification and ferry companies reserve the right to operate vessels other than those mentioned at time of booking without prior notification.

  • "Genua (Italy) to Bastia (Corsica)"

We arrived too early at the port. Above the "gathering area" is a small shopping centre where passengers can stretch their legs. We had not checked in online, so that had to be done at the port. It was nice that they immediately checked us in for the return trip. Boarding went well: enough staff to guide you to the correct parking spot. Unfortunately the weather was bad during the night crossing, which affected the movement of the ship. This made it impossible to sleep. The return trip was actually even better because Bastia has a much smaller port. TIP: Be on time! The boat leaves eaxctly on time: In Bastia one of the passengers and a car arrived late and he wasn’t allowed to board because the gate was closed and the ship was getting to leave. Despite the negative reports about the high prices if a change has to be made e.g. changing a registration number, which was the case for us as we showed up with a different car, the trip was nice. We tried to change it online but it turned out to be very expensive. We then sent an email and got a reply informing us that the registration number can be changed without any penalty.

  • "The hazard of the wind"

A very agitated first crossing during the night between the 10th and 11th September, because of a storm. It's not MOBY's fault. They measured up to the situation. The inbound crossing was wonderful, with a calm sea. These are better conditions to enjoy the cuisineand the sevice of the restaurant, which makes a great spread. However, breakfast (an Italian collatione with fruit juice, yogourt, deli meat, jam and croissant) is really overpriced.

  • "the outbound journey was ok, the inbound journey was perfect"

For the outbound journey, the ferry was almost 2 hours late. And as we didn't have a cabin, it was a very long crossing. The inbound journey was perfect however. We booked a cabin and the ferry was exactly on time. The wifi wasn't working for us though. A good trip overall.

  • "Perfect if you live in Italy"

The boats offered good services. However, I wouldn't go through Italy to go to Corsica again (the fare for the tunnel, the tolls and the fuel all add up to 400€ return). You have to take this into account for your budget.

  • "Air conditioning"

in August, I've travelled on the Genoa-Olbia crossing. I booked a reserved seat and found out that it was located in a deserted area under the garage. I couldn't breath as there was no air. I couldn't go to the bar because there was no lockers where I could leave my luggage. The staff on board suggested to move to the restaurant lounge on the 6th floor. But the temperature was so low that, despite wearing all clothes available, I spent my holidays ill.
