Operated by Irish Ferries on the Cherbourg Rosslare & Roscoff Rosslare routes
The Oscar Wilde is one of the most luxurious ships to sail between Ireland and France and with bright airy cabins, stylish lounges, a wide choice of entertainment and dining options, brings great levels of comfort. From the moment you walk on board you'll appreciate the luxury and will be impressed with what the ship has to offer.
There’s a range of cabins on offer; all are air conditioned, en-suite and above the water line with a choice of inside and outside. The reserved seat lounges are also fully air conditioned with blankets and pillows available from the kiosk at no extra charge and luggage storage lockers are also available. Lounges are accessible by lifts and stairs.
There’s no shortage of places to eat, drink and relax onboard the Oscar Wilde. Enjoy panoramic sea views while sipping your favorite drink at the Merrion Lounge or head to the spacious Gaiety Lounge bar at the rear of the ship for a relaxed and comfortable environment with live entertainment in peak season to suit all tastes - perfect for an after dinner drink. If you’re looking for somewhere for a quiet drink or even a pint, maybe with some live piano music then Oscars Piano Bar will be a welcome retreat.
For a wide and varied menu in a relaxed ambience, the Left Bank Brasserie offers great value, and the opportunity to dine at your leisure whatever your mood. For something different but delicious try the Steakhouse whic offers a real choice of excellent tex-mex and steakhouse dining in a very relaxed environment. Named after the seaside town of Berneval-Sur-Mer in Normandy, the Berneval waiter service restaurant brings great food, service and fine French wines together in ways that will invigorate the palate. Alternatively, head to Café Lafayette and choose from a wide range of sandwiches, rolls, baps and light refreshments.
The shop offers passengers the chance to buy gifts and souvenirs for friends and family. You can pick up some great deals in fragrances, fashion and electrical goods.
Additional facilities include a choice of two cinemas, a hair and beauty salon and wifi (not free). During the summer season Cabaret is performed by troupe of entertainers.
The Oscar Wilde is children friendly. The Happy Prince Play Area is provided so that the younger ones can be entertained with films, games or simply playing amongst themselves.
The ship is wheelchair friendly with specially designed cabins available.

"Trip to Ireland"
Great service. Having made the out trip by Stenna we had something to compare with and we were very impressed. We were even allowed to plug in our motor home to 220 volts for the trip

"Excellent family ship"
Excellent ship all round except for the cleanliness of the toilets. My 7 year old went to the toilet only to have walked all over human faeces. I went in to the toilets and it was everywhere and i mean everywhere. One hour later i went back to check and it had not been cleaned despite me telling someone unboard. My daughter was very distressed and her shoes and socks were distroyed. I was very annoyed at this. We had to bin her footwear and shower her. I was on a Stena ship last week and there was a cleaner in tge toilets every 15 minutes as my wife and i were sitting opposite the entrance. If the cleanilness improved unboard Irish ferries they would get 5 out of 5 but we had a traumatic ecperience and would question whether to travel again

"Great service"
Irish Ferries provided a great service as the weather was bad they texted, emailed and phone me regarding the chancellation of my scheduled booking putting me automatically on to the next sailing. The service at check in and on the sailings were great with spacious accommodation, good food and comfort dispite the bad conditions. I wil definately travel with them again and recommend them.

"Journey frm Cherbourg to Rosslare"
We use the Oscar Wilde quite frequently because it travels back and forward to France throughout the year. It is a fine boat with good facilities and the cabins are clean, well-equipped and comfortable. The addition of Wi-Fi on deck 7 is very welcome.

A quality trip. I found relax and an excellent service. Perhaps the air conditioner was too cold, but you only need a jumper.. I hope to travel again in Ireland.. With the Oscar Wilde.

"A really nice trip"
It was our first time in Irland. We often do long trip. The hospitality was really good: some guys were playing at the entrance and they gave a good start an unforgettable trip. All the services: from th office on board to the restaurant and duty free were di excellent quality. The only flaw was the price. For us it would be better to do the "camping on board" formula. In conclusion very good. Alessandro Ferrante
