The 3 'D Class' vessels used on the Dover Dunkirk route - Dover, Delft and Dunkerque Seaways were purposely built for the cross channel stretch and feature a wide range of facilities to ensure you can relax and enjoy your time onboard including a wide selection of restaurants and bars, dedicated play areas for children and great value shopping.

Onboard Food and Drink

Onboard you’ll find a family friendly self-service restaurant serving good wholesome food at affordable prices, or alternatively there’s the Bistro where you can dine in comfort in a fully licensed seating area with full table service and a first rate menu. Fast Food is on offer at Food Express.

The Lounge bar is a stylish environment and the perfect place to relax and catch up on the latest news and sports via the onboard wide TV screens. The Lounge bar serves refreshing hot and cold drinks, light snacks, wines and spirits. Costa Coffee is now also served within this area. Alternatively, if you’re looking for an ambient atmosphere on board then visit the Bistro Bar on deck 7.

Onboard Shopping

If you enjoy retail therapy then you will find a great deal to please you on board in the retail shop which offers great savings on the latest fragrances, cosmetics and skincare and a wide selection of beers, wines and spirits.

Newspapers, magazines and those easily forgotten items such as maps and toiletries can also be purchased from the onboard shop as well as a range of travel essentials and equipment required to drive legally in the UK and on the continent are also available.

Additional Onboard Facilities

There’s an information desk which is manned throughout your journey (situated on deck 6), a bureau de change and an ATM.

Accessibility

D Class vessels are equipped to carry disabled passengers however it is advised to inform us at the time of making a booking so that the we can ensure that your car can be situated nearer to the lifts on the car deck.

  • "Another pleasant voyage"

    The ship kept to its schedule, was clean tidy and quiet. Difficult to avoid the smell of fried breakfast on the outward voyage but on our return the brief smell of some ones curry was soon dispersed. The 'Duty Free' shop seemed less good value than we normally expect so we bought little there this time. The coffee/tea and cakes were good so a happy time was had by us all.

    My wife had broken her leg a week before the crossing and we were well catered for on the ferrybut for ease we took the shuttle home after only 2 days because of being confined to a wheel chair.

    We enjoyed both the outward and return journeys. Well organised and polite staff. Reasonably priced well cooked refreshments on board. Good seating, although we wondered if there would have been enough had the ferry been full. Efficient loading. Take advantage of priority loading if you can.

    The title says it all really. Arriving at Dover to start our journey was problem free. Boarding was good and the crossing smooth and comfortable. Home bound it took longer than expected to get through security and two passport control areas. We had no problems but didn't need to wait to board the ferry. My advise at Dunkirk would be don't assume you can be late arriving at the port. This is obviously not a comment about DFDS who I can't fault.

    Great service. Easy to check in and short waiting times. Staff are thorough but efficient. Ferry is clean and comfortable. There are a couple places to buy food and drink as well as a duty free, but I do wish they had a place to buy books and magazines. Otherwise an excellent, no fuss experience.

    First time in a long, long time I'd used a car ferry (instead of the train). Was initially difficult (for me) to find the DFDS entry point at Dunkirk - too many signs saying Car Ferry in various directions! But once arrived, everything went very smoothly and efficiently. Arrived at Dover so early that I was offered another ferry arriving Calais. Again - very efficient. Will definitely use DFDS again and again!

    Loading and unloading was quick and professional. Security checks seemed appropriate and we're reassuring. Crossing was good as ferry was clean. Food choices were good although vegetables were very over cooked. Duty free bargains made us happy.
