Blue Horizon

Operated by Blue Star Ferries on the Heraklion Piraeus route

Blue Horizon is a car passenger ferry operated by Greek shipping company Blue Star Ferries in partnership with Superfast Ferries for their parent Attica Group. Built in 1987 Blue Horizon can accommodate 1497 passengers on its decks and 780 vehicles in its garages. There’s no shortage of onboard amenities either, for example; a video games area, aircraft type seating, two restaurants, café and much more to keep you entertained throughout your crossing.

Onboard Food and Drink

Onboard there is a wide choice of cuisine to choose from. You can either sit down at the A la Carte restaurant, or if you prefer fast food then Goody’s will be the place for you. If you’re not that hungry and just prefer a snack enjoy the open deck bar with beautiful views of the ocean.

Accessibility

Wi-Fi access is available in certain areas of the ferry, an ATM machine is onboard for those who need to withdraw money, a payphone is also available if you are unable to connect through your mobile and kennels can be booked for your pets at an advanced request.

Please Note: Whilst we have taken great care in making our Blue Horizon guide as accurate as possible, onboard facilities, services and entertainment may vary depending on the date and time of year that you travel, facilities mentioned may change without notification and ferry companies reserve the right to operate vessels other than those mentioned at time of booking without prior notification.

  • "Never slept better!"

With online booking and travel advice, Greece becomes almost a normal travel destination. The guys at the ticket desk still where a bit out of the loop. but in the end it went very well. (I guess it will be bar-codes for tickets soon). Why the ships only run during the night, when one can see nothing at all is everybodies guess, must be the heat or whatever, but then, why do they bother having a pool??? All one can do is sleep. And with no party going on and nothing to see, this is all one can do. It is like commuting to work on a train at half past six in the morning. Nothing to see, nothing to o, just outright boring. But Hey!, we arrived bang on time with no stress at all...
