Zeebrugge Guide

Zeebrugge is a small village on the west coast of Belgium, and is typically used as the main ferry port for Bruges. The ferry terminal is used as the gateway to the UK, with many crossings to Hull on the east coast of England.

What is there to do in Zeebrugge?

Zeebrugge is undoubtedly a port village; the entirety of the tourism industry evolves around the ferry terminal, the harbour swarmed with passengers heading towards the quaint and charming streets, or scurrying to the nearby train station. It’s the transport links which elevate Zeebrugge into a resort a cut above your typical seaside town; the international port has demanded a few attractions to accompany the impressive infrastructure, most notably the incredibly wide beach that stretches along the coastline.

Just a few minutes’ walk up from the port, you’ll find a few welcoming restaurants, cosy fishermen pubs and stylish cafes serving up some fresh fish amid other local delicacies. The selection of eateries is enough to satisfy most visitors, but for the adventurous types, you can hire a motorboat to ride the waves along the waterfront.

How do you get around Zeebrugge?

Shuttle buses and taxis will transport you into Bruges, and the train station is only a short walk from the terminal.
