Santa Teresa di Gallura Guide

Santa Tersea di Gallura is a town towards the north of Sardinia, right on the northern tip of the island. The only ferry route departing the port is to Bonifacio on the southern coast of Corsica, lasting between 50 minutes and an hour.

What is there to do in Santa Teresa di Gallura?

The town epitomises a quintessential Italian vibe; pastel coloured houses line the streets and coffee shops adorn the piazzas. The piazza Vittorio Emanuele is the most visited area of the town, laying host to numerous bars, souvenir shops and restaurants serving delicious Italian cuisine. Come summer, Santa Teresa welcomes an abundance of tourists from across Europe, though the town is never fully overcome by visitors. In an admirable stance of defiance it still manages to maintain its authentic Italian feel, remaining relatively peaceful and calm all year round.

Away from the busy piazza, walking trails decorate the landscape, offering incredible views of the jagged mountainside. The Complesso nuragico di Lu Brandali are perhaps the standout landmark around the hillside – the faded rock and stone formations offer an insight into the architectural history belonging to the island. After a long day exploring the mountains, it is worthwhile spending a day or two on the golden sands and deep blue water of the Mediterranean Sea.

How do you get around Santa Teresa di Gallura?

The town is very small so most choose to travel by foot around the quaint streets and picturesque coastline.
