Located on the Spanish island of La Gomera is the town of San Sebastian de la Gomera which is the island's capital and home to its port. La Gomera is one of the Canary Islands and its port is located on the ferry route to the islands of Tenerife, La Palma and El Hierro. The city has an interesting historic past and is regarded as the main centre for culture and commerce on the island. Also of interest is the Church of Our Virgin of the Assumption, the museum of religious art works from the 16th to the 19th centuries and the Chapel of St. Sebastian which was constructed around 1530.
