Giglio Guide

Giglio is an Italian island that lies in the Tyrrhenian Sea, just off the coast of Tuscany, and forms part of the Archipelago Toscano National Park and is one of seven islands that make up the Tuscan Archipelago. The island's terrain is mostly mountainous, consisting mainly of granite, with the highest peak, Poggia della Pagana, rising to just under 500 meters above sea level. The main tourist resort on the island is Giglio Campese which is located on the north west coast of the island and the island's port, Giglio Porto, is located on the island's east coast. Also on the island is the town of Giglio Castello which is situated on a hill between the Giglio Campese and Giglio Porto, and is well known and popular with tourists for the walls of an old fortress.

From the port, ferries depart regularly for the chic harbour of Porto Santo Stefano in the Argentario for connections to the Tuscan mainland.
