Good service I would recommend them again

I booked a ticket and by some reason the return date was wrong. I called them ( the waiting time is really long) and they sorted my problem without too many questions

Very good customer service

I rang up yesterday after I made a mistake on my booking, booked 2 passengers and forgot to book the car. Spoke to Tom at about 11pm. Extremely helpful , professional and very quick to get my stuff up sorted. Had a confirmation of new booking before the call was finished. Very impressed. I wish we had this customer service in Australia.

Cheaper than direct for me... but highlight additional charges UPFRONT.

Overall good, but 1 star dropped as although The overall price was cheaper than going direct to Stena, I'm always irritated when sites add "processing charges" at the end after you've entered all your details, and which were never mentioned previously... and for a visa delta transaction too.

Porto Empedocle Guide

The town of Porto Empedocle on the Italian island of Sicily lies on the coast of the Strait of Sicily and has long served as the port for Agrigento, the capital of the province of the same name. There are some sites worth visiting in the town's historic centre which is characterised by narrow winding streets. Perhaps the most popular attraction in the town is its cathedral. Away from the town, the areas main attraction is the Valley of the Temples and its museum. The town's main sources of income are agriculture, fishing, ironworking, pharmaceuticals and rock salt refining.

In 2003, the town changed its official name to Porto Empedocle Vigata, after the name of the fictional town where the popular novels by Andrea Camilleri, famous Italian writer and native of Porto Empedocle, about detective Inspector Montalbano are placed.

The Agrigento region is popular with tourists in part as a result of its rich archaeological history. It also serves as an agricultural centre for the surrounding region. Sulphur and potash have been mined locally since Minoan times until the 1970s, and were exported around the world from the nearby harbour of Porto Empedocle.

Ferry services from the town's port depart to Lampedusa and Linosa.

Lampedusa Guide

Lampedusa is an Italian island that lies in the Mediterranean Sea and is around 110 miles from the Sicilian coast and 70 miles from the coast of Tunisia. In fact, Lampedusa is the last Italian land before the African coast. The island is a popular destination for scuba divers and for those just seeking to enjoy the island's lovely Mediterranean climate. The island is also part of the Pelagian Archipelago (the "island of the high sea" in Greek etymology) along with the islands of Linosa and the Scoglio known as Lampione.

The island's terrain is characterised with a rather inaccessible north and west but with lovely sand beaches on the island's eastern and southern shores. If visiting during the summer don't be surprised to see some celebrations taking place on one of the island's beaches which might include bonfires, BBQ's, spaghetti cookouts and musical performances.

A ferry service links the island with Porto Empedocle, near Agrigento, Sicily.
