Ferries to Ireland

Ireland or the Republic of Ireland occupies around eighty percent of the island of Ireland, with Northern Ireland constituting the remainder.

The capital, largest and most famous city is Dublin which is located to the east and houses around a quarter of the country’s population. Ireland is more than just its capital though; culturally rich cities such as Cork, Galway, Limerick and Killarney roll off the tongue as top destinations.

Away from the city bustle, beautiful green rolling landscape dishes up a generous helping of mountains, valleys, lochs, gold sandy beaches and islets.

While you’re there, if you find yourself in a traditional pub then be sure to sample some of Ireland’s most famous exports - Whiskey, Baileys and Guinness.

Ireland is relatively easy to get to by ferry from the UK with fast and frequent connections available across a selection of ferry companies. If you’re travelling from Scotland then it may well be better to get the ferry to Northern Ireland and drive south to Ireland.

If you’re travelling from continental Europe then France features numerous ferry routes to Ireland. Whilst the ferry crossing is quite long, the ferries are generally well appointed and there’s plenty to keep you busy and entertained on board.
