If only there had been better signage at Granville we could have got on the boat without any trouble. Nobody told us to exchange our internet booking with tickets and on the return nobody told us we needed boarding cards. Otherwise, the trip was quite pleasant.

Love manche isles express, the boats, time keeping , staff & cleanliness were excellent. Wish I could say the same for their website, which is terrible. However I found booking through Direct Ferries was 100 times easier and funnily enough cheaper than their website or their office in St. Helier. My only complaint is that there are not enough day trips to Granville from Jersey.

Built on reclaimed land from the sea is the lower town. The upper town is surrounded by 15th century ramparts. Overlooking the town is the Romanesque/early Gothic style church of Notre Dame du Cap Lihou which was built between 1441 and 1796. It is an imposing structure and is perhaps one of the reasons why the town has managed to retain its strong military and religious links to the past. Also in the town for visitors to enjoy is the Musee Christian Dior which is located in the fashion designer's childhood home, Villa Les Rhumbs, and also the town's museum which contains documents enabling visitors to learn about the history of the town over the centuries. Granville offers a number of activities to keep visitors entertained ranging from fishing to casinos. There are also plenty of waterfront restaurants serving excellent local produce including fresh locally caught seafood.
