The BEST way to get from Santa Cruz (Tenerife) to Las Palmas (Gran Canaria). It takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes. Excellent air conditioning, comfortable chairs, very good lounge. If you're lucky enough, you might see a dolphin or two on your way :)

We enjoyed the time on the ferry. We were going to be on the islands for an extended time, so the ferry allowed less restrictions with luggage and was why we chose this route instead of flying. It turned out to be an overall good experience, we had only reserved seats. We had just done another ferry trip north of Europe and this one was much more affordable. There was a meal plan for 30 euro for both days we would be on the ship that we didn´t know about until later. We also didn´t know that sleeping in communal areas was tolerated, if posted that it was not permitted, so even though we were some of the first to board, we didn´t know to claim a sleeping space outside of the pullman seats until it was too late and they were all taken. The on-board entertainment was wonderful. We had a smooth ride and my son was able to get in the pool and bingo was available and other activities which made the ride go by quicker. The food was delicious and both food and drinks were very reasonably priced. The three things that could have been better 1. It was freezing at night, much colder than was necessary. We didn´t plan on bringing a blanket to the Canary Islands. 2. It would be nice if they would play different movies in different areas, we had to leave our area because the movie that was playing was not appropriate for children to watch. 3. The seats and benches could all use a thorough scrubbing, all of the couches had mould-dirt spots between the cushions, the seats were covered with crumbs and general dirt. The floors and easily wipable surfaces were clean, but it needed a good scrubbing, or wipes made available for those who would like to clean their own seat, as we were sleeping on them all night. We would use the ferry again, now knowing a few important things that we didn´t before!
