"Smooth crossing"
Having driven to Spain via Calais, we decided to try the return journey by ferry from Bilbao to Portsmouth. If we drive to Spain in the future we will always consider using the overnight ferry to Bilbao as it was straight forward and made the journey far more pleasurable.

Journey to Bilbao on Spanish toll road very simple - not too much traffic and good roads all the way to the port. Cap Finistere was well prepared, well equipped and had a helpful staff on our Bilbao - Portsmouth journey.

We enjoyed our ferry return trip from Bilboa to Portsmouth with Brittany Ferries. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We were pleasantly surprised with the cabin size and it had a good ensuite, great value for money. We enjoyed the meals we had in the restaurant. Overall very good. We would definitely use this company again. We booked with Direct Ferries, again a very good company to deal with.

Overall the experience was very pleasant. The ferry journey represented good value for money. The facilities including the 2 berth cabin were excellent. Food served in the restaurant was very good. The staff were professional, helpful , courteous and efficient at all times. The boarding and disembarkation all though time consuming was probably as good as it could be in all the circumstances. I would recommend this ferry without reservation.
