Adria Ferries

Adria Ferries provides trans-Adriatic services between Italy and Albania, from the Italian port towns of Ancona, Bari and Trieste to Durres, the second largest city of Albania.

Serving the long-standing maritime link between Italy and Albania, Adria Ferries was established in 2004, and has transported over two and a half million passengers and seven hundred thousand vehicles ever since. By 2014, the company was recognised as a market leader in ferry crossings between the two nations, operating one of the largest fleets in terms of total capacity.

Previously named Conero Riviera, AF Michela was the original vessel in the Adria Ferries fleet, holding over eight hundred passengers, while AF Claudia, one of the biggest ferries in the Adriatic Sea, can carry more than fifteen hundred passengers, boasting two hundred and eighty luxurious cabins. AF Francesa joined the fleet in 2009, in accordance to the newly introduced Bari-Durres route, followed by the ships AF Marina in 2012, and Aurelia two years after.

Adria Ferries Customer Reviews

  • "It's better to forget it"

Horrible experience with Adria Ferries, the departure was scheduled at 23.00 but we sailed at 4 in the morning. Staff not helpful, the disembarkment was too crowded

  • "An experience to forget"

The ferry journeys between Bari and Durres and the return Durres to Bari is one I am not likely to repeat. Both ports could do with learning how to organize car ferries. I suggest the port authorities visit either Dover or Calais to see how it should be done. The ferry in both directions was late leaving and slow and grossly over crowded. The ferry from Durres to Bari was about 5 hours late added to which there was about a 2 hour wait to get through passport control. This put unwanted pressure on my drive to Calais where I had another ferry to catch. I doubt if I shall be using the Bari - Durres ferry again. I might also add the food in the cafeteria was only luke warm. I think next time I visit Albania I shall go by air.

  • "bad experience"

the worst trip I ever done. The departure was more than 1 hour late, boarding process very slow, too many people booked with deck space and they were sleeping everywhere on the floor.
